On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, clear passport control, collect your luggage and make your way through to the arrivals hall where you will be met by a company representative who will welcome you to South Africa and assist you with collecting your hired car.  Once you have collected your hired car, set out for your 5 hour drive through to Fugitives Drift Lodge for your two night stay. On arrival, you will be welcomed to the lodge where you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure enjoying your beautiful surroundings.

A full day to explore this fantastic area. Today enjoy taking part in some of the famous tours Fugitives is known for. Led by the finest guides in South Africa, thought-provoking and often emotionally charged tours are conducted daily to Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. Walks and horse rides through the reserve to view abundant game and birdlife are offered as well as fishing the 20km frontage on the Buffalo River.

This morning you will bid farewell to the the lodge as you continue on your adventure through Kwazulu-Natal. Today you will drive through to Thanda Private Game reserve for an amazing safari experience. The drive will be approximately 4 hours. On arrival at the reserve, you will make your way through to the Tented Camp. Once welcomed you will have time to freshen up before your afternoon game activity commences. Enjoy four nights here with inclusive activities.

Today you will bid your safari experience goodbye as you continue on your journey towards the coast. This morning you will self drive through to the famous Oyster Box Hotel located along the Umhlanga coastline just outside Durban. The drive today is approximately 3.5 hours. Umhlanga offers a wide array of attractions within the town and nearby. Perhaps enjoy shopping, exploring the vibrant city of Durban, or explore the nearby beaches. Spectacularly situated on the ocean’s edge, with direct beach access and just five minutes’ walk from Umhlanga Village Centre, The Oyster Box enjoys an idyllic location. It’s also conveniently placed for quick and easy access to Durban city centre, King Shaka International Airport and numerous stylish shopping centres.

Today you will continue on towards the famous Drakensberg Mountains. The drive from the Oyster Box through to Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is approximately 2.5 hours. On arrival, you will be welcomed and shown to your rooms for your 3 nights stay. The Drakensberg has many activities on your doorstep from horseback riding, to hiking to hot air balloon adventures. Enjoy two full days to explore the Drakensberg area. Cleopatra’s Mountain Farmhouse is perfectly located to allow you to take part in some fun activities such as hikes, horse riding, trout fishing, or exploring nearby rock art.

Today your South African adventure comes to an end. This morning you will self drive back through to OR Tambo International airport time for your international flight back home. The drive to OR Tambo is approximately 5 hours. Please remember you will need to check in at least two hours prior to your departure flight. On arrival at OR Tambo return your hired car and make your way to the check in counter for your international flight.
