Day 4 – 5

Today you will be transferred to Livingstone Airport from where you will fly onwards to Lusaka and then by light aircraft to Ila Safari Lodge. As a luxury tented lodge sensitive to the pristine ecosystem of Kafue National Park, Ila Safari Lodge is intimately woven into the stillness of its place on the Kafue River. From environmentally friendly, locally sourced building materials and solar-powered electricity to development of Zambia’s first electric game drive vehicle, Ila is a truly environmentally conscious safari experience. Yet it still manages to effortlessly infuse modern African style, elegance and comfort to make this your unique bush retreat in the heart of Kafue.

Day 6 – 8

Fly onwards to Busanga Plains today, in the Northern Kafue. Chisa is the Nyanja word for ‘birds nest’, and the rooms were inspired by the weaver bird nests that decorate the trees here. Sitting on a small tree-lined island, the camp uses only solar power as do the game drive vehicle and bicycles used to explore the watery dambos beyond. The solar-powered Land Cruiser and mountain bikes are sustainable ways to explore the plains; so too is the hot air balloon that carries you high above them. Back at camp, the plunge pool is absolute bliss in the midday heat and the campfire is where great conversation and stargazing happens.

Day 9 – 11

Fly onwards today, via Lusaka and Mfuwe. Green Safari’s partnership with legendary guide, Jacob Shawa, not only inspired the name of Shawa Luangwa Camp; it created the foundation for them to bring Silent Safaris to the South Luangwa. Here, the South Luangwa National Park is on your doorstep, just waiting to be explored by vehicle, boat or foot with a wonderful guide by your side. Through Silent Safaris, care for the environment extends beyond camp into the wilderness of the park and Nsefu Sector. The electric Land Cruisers are powered by Zambia’s abundant sunshine to traverse the area quietly, lightly and with minimal carbon footprint. As the birthplace of the walking safari, South Luangwa beckons you to step out on foot with legendary guide, Jacob Shawa, who will make you fall in love with the bush.

Day 12 – 14

Lake Malawi awaits you for two nights of post-safari relaxation! You will fly from Mfuwe to Likoma Airport from where you will be transferred to Kaya Mawa.  On the white sandy beaches of Likoma Island sits Kaya Mawa, a boutique lodge that welcomes honeymooners, families and friends for an indulgently carefree getaway. Whether you’re reveling in the various water sports like kayaking and diving, indulging in a spa treatment overlooking the lake or just chilling on the beach with your loved one, Kaya Mawa shows you the best of lakeside living.
