Kasane

Kasane, at the far north-eastern corner of Botswana, is close to the hub of Africa’s ‘Four Corners’ and the KAZA Transfrontier Park where four countries almost meet; Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The town lies on the south bank of the 200–300 metres wide Chobe River which forms the border with the extreme tip of Namibia’s Zambezi Region. The Namibian island of Impalila lies opposite the town on the north bank of the river, and to the east is the village of Kazungula and the border post for travel into nearby Zimbabwe.

Kasane is at the north-eastern boundary of Chobe National Park and offers an easy access point for tourists entering the park, as well as those travelling further afield into the Okavango Delta, Namibia’s Zambezi Region, or Victoria Falls. Kasane Airport is very close to the town and is a hub for regional scheduled and light aircraft charter flights.
