Popyeni Nghimutina
Admin Assistant/ Trainee Tour Consultant
Popyeni, or ”Popsy” as she is known in the office, started working in our admin department in March 2023 and is being kept very busy with preparations for all our arrivals. Having graduated from NUST (Namibia University of Science & Technology) in 2020 with an Honours degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management, she spent a couple of years managing restaurants and cafes in town, as well as delivering training programs on hospitality operations and customer service.
Popsy says:
What are your ‘must have’ travel items? A journal, crystals (usually clear or rose quartz), Vaseline, sunglasses, socks, and definitely a power bank.
What meal could you eat everyday? I love pasta, if you throw in some cream, fresh herbs (usually basil does it for me), and some bacon bites or grilled chicken strips, I am a happy girl…
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you? I am quite reserved, and I spend a lot of time by myself (which I love).
How did you get into tourism? The industry offers rewarding career opportunities, this has always appealed to me, and above everything else the fulfilment I get from contributing to client’s travel experiences makes it all worth it.
What is your favourite book and/or movie? “What Happened To You” by Bruce D. Perry & Oprah Winfrey, I love old films and The Godfather Trilogy sits comfortably at the top.
What is your favourite Namibian destination and why? Luderitz! It has always given me the feeling of coziness, and as a seafood lover this is a safe space!
A quote to live by? “The time is always right, to do what’s right”
