Benhard began his journey with ATI Holidays as an eager intern, immersing himself in all departments to gain a holistic understanding of the business. His passion, dedication, and warm energy quickly made an impression, and he is now a full-time Administration Specialist.

With a background in Tourism Management and an Honours degree to his name, Benhard brings valuable experience from his previous roles at the City of Windhoek’s Information Office and Eco Awards Namibia. There, he developed skills in sustainability assessments, financial reporting, customer service, and event coordination, laying a strong foundation for his role here at ATI.

Inspired by a love for travel and world cultures, Benhard initially pursued tourism hoping to explore the globe. Over time, his appreciation for Namibia’s landscapes and wildlife deepened, fuelling a genuine passion for promoting sustainable tourism in his home country.

Benhard says:

How did you get into tourism?  Initially I got into tourism thinking I would be the one travelling the country/world, as I love travelling and learning about the different cultures. Over time, in my studies together with excursions, I developed a deep appreciation for Namibia’s beautiful landscape and wildlife, which made me even more passionate about promoting and preserving our tourism industry.

What is your favourite Namibian destination and why? A bit hard to pinpoint one destination, but if I had to just pick out one, it would be Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert, where towering red sand dunes like Dune 45 and Big Daddy create an unearthly landscape. The Dead Vlei, with its plain white clay pan and ancient blackened trees, is just beautiful.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? No doubt Pap, Mutete, and Meat 😂.

If you had a warning label, what would it say? Warning: Ben has immaculate vibes and may cause instant likeability.
