Swellendam

Swellendam is the one of the oldest town in South Africa, situated on the N2, approximately 220 km from both Cape Town and George and within the Western Cape province. This historical town has over 50 provincial heritage sites, most of them buildings of Cape Dutch architecture.  Swellendam is one of the biggest agricultural producing areas in South Africa, generating huge amounts of grain, Canola oil, meat & dairy as well as exporting Citrus, berries, wool and wine all over the world. There is something for everyone, no matter if you’re fascinated by history, love sports, are keen on wildlife and birding, or an enthusiastic lover of good food and wine.
